Environmental Governance Initiative (EGI)

The goal of this program is to prioritize the inclusion of the environment in all levels of decision-making and actions in Liberia while emphasizing the connection of people to the ecosystems in which they live. The program demands environmental justice and sustainability. It advocates for the decentralization of environmental decision-making powers from governments to other actors including local communities to improve protection, accountability, accessibility, and a voice for local people and their representatives in environmental decision-making matters.
